Orange Topiary Chiyogami Workshop WITH SHELLY BANKS

Discover Collage!
This afternoon workshop will have you cutting and pasting to your heart’s content, until you have created your very own orange topiary in chiyogami. Choose your colour and paper for a neutral background so it is uniquely yours. No experience is necessary for this class. Learn all about the relaxing process of collage making with artist Shelly Banks!
About the Instructor:
Shelly is an award-winning coloured-pencil artist who also enjoys teaching indigo dyeing, acrylic, glass painting and how to make beeswax wraps. She loves exploring a wide range of mediums. Her current passion is oil painting as it creates so much luminosity and vibrancy. She has taught for The Paint Spot for over 6 years now – she loves it!

Student Supplies:
- Chiyogami (greens, oranges and blues) — inspiration packs in greens and oranges
- Optional: Japanese Paper Place rayon tissue (greens, oranges and blues)
- 12 x 16″ up to 16 x 20″ canvas or birch panel (if a birch panel it needs to be primed with one coat of gesso)
- Scissors
- Yamato rice paste (55 gm size) or matte gel
- ½” Synthetic flat brush
- Book sheets or music sheets as a neutral beige colour for background
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, lunch, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
