Do you want to learn how to paint this simple but always elegant subject? In this class, you will learn how to paint this white swan during dusk using a limited, three-colour palette. A limited palette simplifies the decision-making process during painting. When you aren’t thinking about what colours you are going to use, you can focus on the subject, the composition, and the way the colours work
together, rather than getting overwhelmed by a vast array of colour choices. You will learn what ideal colour pigments to use for this scene, and how to mix various pigments properly.
You will also learn how to carefully paint with precision and using wet-on-wet technique and learn how to produce paintings with simple compositions with impact.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 11 x 9”), watercolour brushes, palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, and mounting board. Students are encouraged to bring their own watercolour brushes and paints. The instructor will guide students on how to use them appropriately.
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
