Colourful Succulents Mastering Wet-on-Wet Watercolour Workshop WITH FRANCIS MARTE

Have you ever wondered how to paint a pretty succulent? Succulents are popular sellers and they make for a fabulous motif. This class is for artists with some experience in watercolour painting to learn a new skill and improve doing the wet-in-wet technique. Plus, this is a fabulous way to practice your brush control.
The instructor will demo how to; drop paint pigments on the wet surface, glaze effectively, preserve highlights (whites of paper), watch for correct values and tones, paint with more precision, troubleshoot and correct mistakes. Instructor Francis Marte will show how to choose paint colours on your own, recommend paints colours and other materials to use so you can produce a similar painting in the future.
A photo reference will be provided by the instructor, as well as paints and masking fluid. The Paint Spot will supply other materials.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Instructor will provide watercolour paint and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 10 x 12”), watercolour brushes , palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, mounting board.
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
