Whether you’re a budding artist or someone looking to refine existing skills, this class is structured to elevate your drawing abilities. Through a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary approaches, you’ll witness a significant enhancement in your drawing proficiency. Join instructor Farhad and you’ll find a space where creativity flourishes, questions are encouraged, and the process of discovery is celebrated.
This course is meticulously designed to encompass the essentials of drawing. From mastering the intricacies of proportions to exploring the expressive capabilities of charcoal, pastels and other drawing materials, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of these captivating art forms.
About the Instructor:
Farhad Sadeghi Amini is a dedicated lecturer and award-winning artist with an MA in Fine Arts and over 10 years of experience teaching in a university setting. He has been showcased in numerous international art exhibitions over twenty countries. In addition to his artistic achievements, Farhad has actively contributed to the artistic community as a Director on the Burnaby Arts Council. He has also served as a juror for the esteemed Burnaby Film Forum (BFF), further showcasing his commitment to supporting and promoting the arts in various forms.

Suggested Supplies:
1. Graphite pencils H, 2B, 4B are good to start
2. Vine charcoal
3. Vinyl eraser, kneadable eraser, & blending stomps
4. Chalk pastels
5. Paper for drawing: Newprint pad, 9 x 12” sketchbook, or Stonehenge paper cut into 11 x 15”
6. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
