Instructor: Leila Zolfalipour

Leila Zolfalipour is a multidisciplinary artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design with distinction from the University of Alberta and is a juried member of the Alberta Society of Artists. Leila works in drawing, oil painting, sculpture, 3D modelling, and virtual reality, drawing inspiration from her Persian heritage, lived experiences, and the natural world.

With two decades of experience in fine arts, Leila has exhibited her work in Canada, Iran, and the UK, and her pieces are held in private collections internationally. She teaches drawing, oil painting, floral painting, and mixed media, encouraging her students to connect with their own stories through the process of making art.

Fun fact: Leila drinks Persian tea while sketching, always from a glass, never a mug. She believes the best colour palettes come from old Persian carpets and Alberta sunsets.
