This course is perfect for beginners with no art experience.
Hanji is beautifully woven paper produced from Mulberry Trees, which can be craft into abstract positive messaging and images. The process of creating Hanji Art is extremely therapeutic.
Learn about the unique properties of Korean Hanji paper. Eunju will share her techniques for gluing and placing papers in layers and random wrinkles for expressive results. There is no cutting in the class; all papers are hand-torn.
This session will benefit artists looking to expand their knowledge of collage and explore meaning and symbolism in geometric shapes. The focus is on themes of harmony and balance in abstract compositions.
About the Instructor:
Eunju Park has been living in Canada for the past decade, she started to feel a disconnect to her heritage, and wanted to explore traditional artifacts in an attempt to reconnect with her Korean roots. She has an invigorated passion to share this centuries old vibrant paper with the modern world.
