Clouds and Green Fields in Watercolour WITH FRANCIS MARTE

Beginners welcome!
In this 3-hour class, you will learn how to paint cloudy skies and a simple landscape during dusk in watercolour. Learn what colour pigments to use and how to mix them for soft clouds using wet-on-wet technique, how to mix various pigments for your greens and darks. The instructor will teach how to simplify a reference photo and how to enhance it on your painting. Learn how to use different brush strokes and painting techniques to create distant trees, grass and a foggy plane.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 9 x 11”), watercolour brushes, palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, and mounting board. Students are encouraged to bring their own watercolour brushes and paints. The instructor will guide students on how to use them appropriately.
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
