Ampersand Scratchbord Tool Kit
This kit contains the essential tools for cross-hatching, blending soft lines, erasing large areas and applying fine detail work to a Claybord or scratchboard. This kit contains one Fiber Brush, one Line Tool, one Wire Brush, one Scratch Knife with two nibs, a piece of steel wool and a piece of Claybord for experimentation.
The scratch knife is the best tool to select when trying scratchboard for the first time, and is a favorite tool for practiced users as well. Use the Scratch Knife for thin or wide precise parallel lines.
Use the Line Tool for parallel lines and cross-hatching while creating on a Claybord. This tool has five needles tightly pressed together so you can create extremely fine cross-hatching details.
Use the Wire Brush to scratch various fine textures into dry ink or paint including hair, grass and feathers. The many curved metal wires allow for organic, varied line work.
