Beginners Welcome!
In this class you will learn how to paint a rural landscape that features white cows in a field. Including animals in landscape paintings really adds life and atmosphere to a painting.
The instructor will show you step-by-step on how to paint this scene using various techniques.
Learn to:
1. Assessing the reference photo
2. Trace transferring the reference photo to watercolour paper
3. Using masking fluid
4. Painting the sky using wet-on-wet and painting the distant trees using wet-on-wet
5. Painting the grassy field using a variety of mixed greens, blues and ochres
6. Painting the cows with selected soft colours for shadows while preserving the whites of the paper and using wet-on-wet
7. Lifting paint pigments
8. Painting the details of the cows
9. Refining details
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint, masking fluid, and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press), watercolour brushes, 2 palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
2. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
