Who cares if you stay in the city, visit a nearby park or paint in your backyard. Plein-air painting is exciting, challenging and rewarding in so many different ways.
If you are a plein air painter or just picking up the medium, you are no stranger to the challenges that come with capturing the beauty of nature on canvas. Sign up for this unique opportunity to experience the beauty of en plein air painting, discover new techniques and approaches as Oksana demonstrates and paints with you sight by sight.

About the Instructor:
Classically trained in Eastern Europe, Oksana began her art career in L’viv, Ukraine. Oksana studied at the Ivan Trush College of Decorative Arts. She chose to make painting, especially of murals, her specialty. In 2001, she held her first solo exhibition at the L’viv University of Ivan Franko. Oksana brings her training, skill, and passion to her painting, and she is versatile in expressive styles. She is adept at many genres, including portraiture, still life, and landscape.

Please Bring:
- Guerrilla Box 6×8”, 9 x 12” or U.go 8.5 x 11.5” (it requires a tripod) or light sturdy easel (if it is your first time a board that you can attach your panel or canvas and put on your lap will do.)
- Suggested painting surfaces 9″ x 12″ or 11″ x 14″: Canvas board, or Canvases, Masonite panels (primed) (I strongly recommend tinting your painting surfaces of your choice in a light grey or any other warm colour. It will prevent from glaring
- Disposable pallet paper (in grey to prevent reflections and to help you to see the values better) 9”x12” or bigger
- Brushes of your choice! Some suggestions: Filbert #2 (2) #4, #6, #8. Liner brush #0 or #2. Flat or angle brush #4
- Suggested colour palette – Option 1: Burned Umber, Yellow Ochre, Indian Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Quin Magenta, Cobalt Teal, Titanium White, Payne’s Grey. Option 2: Quin Magenta, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light (or lemon yellow), Black, White
- Notepad, pencil, or marker, Paper towel, wet wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, water, and a snack. Hat, layers of clothes (be ready for any kind of weather) dark clothes preferably, no bright or neon colours to prevent reflections.
