The “golden hour” is the time when the sunlight is shifting warmer due to sunrise or sunset. Learn how to paint this beautiful seascape using warm earth pigments to achieve the luminous golden hour scene.
You will also learn how to paint the rustic textures of a boat, and how to paint its reflections on water.
Learn to:
1. Assessing the reference photo for a successful composition and painting
2. Painting a luminous sky using vibrant colour pigments using wet-on-wet
3. Painting water with layering techniques
4. Painting a boat and its rusty details
5. Painting details using small brushes
6. Painting reflection on water
7. Lifting paint pigments
8. Refining details
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint, masking fluid, and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press), watercolour brushes, 2 palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
2. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
You will receive a 20% discount on all art supplies from your registration until the end of the class!
Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
