With summer around the corner, its the perfect time of year to turn to the outdoors for inspiration! Whether you’re curious about printmaking, or looking for some simple techniques to capture the intricate detail of plant matter in your prints and drawings, this may be the class for you!

Using plant trimmings participants will create a range of multi-layered prints exploring, composition, texture and colour.

Over the evening we will discuss different Japanesse and Western papers best suited for printing gelli plates and other mono printing techniques. We will also investigate the properties of different inks, and how to use colour effectively by making use of ink transparencies and colour mixing. Whether this is your first introduction to printmaking, or if you’re a painter looking for some new tricks and transfer techniques, this is the perfect class for you!
