This 4″ round baren is a great economical alternative to a more substantial baren and is ideal for hand-printing small jobs.
It can be used with wood carving blocks and rubber stamps. The almost friction-less teflon rubbing surface glides easily over the back of the paper and allows the print-maker to freely vary the pressure applied. The baren evenly transfers the desired image onto paper.
The small dots on the surface provide multiple pressure points evenly across the disc which reduces friction compared to a baren with a smooth surface. Used for woodblock printing to burnish the back of a sheet of paper, lifting ink from the block.
