Beginners Welcome!
In this class designed for beginners, learn how to paint various textures of eggs and glass to achieve a realistic painting in watercolour.
The “color mixing secrets” lesson part of the class will be very valuable for anyone wanting to make the most out of a basic watercolour set with a limited palette.
What you’ll learn:
1. How to trace transfer a reference photo on watercolour paper
2. How to use masking fluid
3. How to mix a limited colour palette of yellows, oranges, rose and blues
4. How to paint wet-on-wet
5. How to layer effectively to add depth and structure
6. How to paint shadows with soft edges
Using a reference photo, only little drawing skills are necessary. Francis will guide you with demos and useful critiques.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint, masking fluid, and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press), watercolour brushes, 2 palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
2. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
