R&F Pigment Stick Starter Set
This value-based set of three half sticks is the perfect introduction to R&F Pigment Sticks and painting with oil sticks! This new beginner set features three 19 ml oil sticks. These R&F pigment stick starter colours are carefully selected. Whether you call them oil sticks or pigment sticks, it means the same. It is like a tube of oil paint, but in stick form. Pigment Sticks are comprised of pure alkali refined linseed oil, purified natural plant waxes and beeswax. They contain no driers, no fillers or adulterants and no expedients of any kind. Because R&F does not use short cuts, the wonderful workability of R&F Pigment Sticks depends upon a very careful balance of oil, wax and pigment. This results in an intensively pigmented, handmade, traditional artist oil paint in stick form.
Our resident artist Oksana Zhelisko illustrates how to use pigment sticks in three ways:
- Direct Drawing
- Thinned with oil medium and applied with a brush
- Scoop some on a palette knife and work it over a canvas.
