$80 + Supply List
Class Limit: 15 Students
Reccomended for Intermediate Artists & Mid-Beginners!
Tune in to this workshop focusing on urban landscape painting in the Zorn palette. A fascinating exploration of both technique and subject matter. The Zorn palette, named after the Swedish artist Anders Zorn, typically consists of just four colours: yellow ochre, ivory black, vermilion (or cadmium red light), and titanium white.
Despite its limited palette, Zorn allows for a wide range of tones and hues suitable for capturing the nuances of urban environments.
In the workshop, you will learn how to analyze composition, perspective, and lighting conditions typical of “low-key” urban landscapes. You will also learn an overview of the four colours and their properties, emphasizing their mixing capabilities to achieve various chromas and tones.
You will follow step-by-step demonstration by Oksana on mixing colours using the Zorn Palette to depict urban elements such as buildings, streets, and people. Learn various techniques on capturing light and shadow effectively within the limited colour range.
