This series of 4 classes are designed for students interested in developing their artistic skills and synthesizing three major components: composition, tone and colour.
Through Oksana’s demonstrations, plenty of individual attention and encouragement, you will increase your creative confidence and style. You will be introduced to painting essentials including design, perspective (fore-/mid-/background), landmark representation, colour mixing, contrast and sense of depth.

Open for oil or acrylic artists. This course is suitable whether you have limited painting and drawing experience or if you are a seasoned artist. Reference pictures will be provided for the first class.

About the Instructor:

Classically trained in Eastern Europe, Oksana began her art career in L’viv, Ukraine. Oksana studied at the Ivan Trush College of Decorative Arts. She chose to make painting, especially of murals, her specialty. In 2001, she held her first solo exhibition at the L’viv University of Ivan Franko. Oksana brings her training, skill, and passion to her painting, and she is versatile in expressive styles. She is adept at many genres, including portraiture, still life, and landscape.

1. Supplies Paint: titanium white, ivory black, lemon yellow, ultramarine, magenta, cadmium red light, vandyke brown, Indian yellow
2. Oil medium: galkyd lite, luquin or any other oil medium
Acrylic medium: glazing liquid
3. Brushes oil: Bristle flats #2(3), #4 synthetic liner #0
Brushes acrylic: flat synthetic #2(3), #4 and synthetic liner #0
4. Palette oil: disposable paper, wooden or plastic
Palette acrylic: stay wet palette
5. Canvas board or board 6” x 8” (6-8) primed in a light grey colour
