Figurative work improves with more practice. Drawing from a live model is the best way to practice fundamental techniques and expand existing skills in a variety of media to discover your individual artistic style.
One Tuesday each month, Asal Andarzipour will be available for guidance. In these instructor-led sessions, Asal will introduce a particular element to study which each artist will then be able to further practice in the remaining self-guided sessions of each month. Contour, gesture, depth, and focal point are some of the fundamentals that artists will have the opportunity to strengthen.
Whether you are a novice artist or you have some past experience, these sessions offer you a live model from which to draw, paint, or sculpt, and an instructor to hone your figure drawing practice.
The Paint Spot provides easels, tables & chairs for your use. Each artist is responsible for providing their own drawing supplies.
Attendees must be at least 18 years old to attend. No drop-ins, pre-registration required.
Format for this week:
Five x 1-minute gestures
5 x 3-minute gestures
5 x 5-minute short pose
3 x 10-minute short pose
BREAK 15 minutes
One x 30-minute long pose (standing)
1 x 30-minute long pose (sitting)
1 x 30-minute long pose (reclining)
TOTAL: 180 minutes ( 3 hours)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
