Paint directly on fabric with Free-Flowing Dye Na Flow
We presented a workshop called ‘Fabric Art Innovations’ in Canmore for the Alberta Teachers’ Association Fine Art Convention. Which lead to a two-hour staff meeting to experiment with nearly all the textile painting and drawing materials at The Paint Spot. This hands-on training will make us a better resource for you and it inspires us to create more samples for the store. It is important to feel the paints to understand the differences. The samples will help you decide which paint suits your project. Next, we put some of our project ideas to the test with a little help from art teachers from the Catholic School Board. The ‘50’ Banner Project’ was a hit. To find out how we did it and stayed on budget, watch the video below.
Use resist techniques to control the flow of fabric paints
What do you call a pile of cats? A Meowtain! We couldn’t resist the extra pun for a video all about resists for fabric painting.
Simple fabric dye sticks from Pentel
Do you prefer to draw than paint? Then Pentel Fabric Dye Sticks might be worth trying. These work just like an oil pastel but you heat-set the colour to the fabric with a regular clothes iron.

Project ideas for school teachers.

Wouldn’t they look amazingly hand-painted? Fabric ideas range from small projects such as T-shirts and pillows to large projects like curtains, upholstery, and quilting.
