QoR Watercolor Iridescent Copper 11ml
New QoR Iridescent Copper is a stunning metallic watercolour that looks great on black paper. The unique formulation of QoR Watercolors accentuates the luminosity and brilliance of pigments even after drying. QoR provides the subtlety, transparency, and flow of a great watercolor, with colors that have as much vibrancy and fire as the best acrylic or oil paint.
QoR Iridescent paints use pigments formed by coating mica flakes with Titanium Dioxide. Coating the thin, translucent, and reflective mica platelets with thin layers of pigment creates a situation where light reflects and refracts between the microscopic layers. The thickness of the pigment layers, the nature of the pigments used, and the interaction with light result in the different colors and effects. Other than the coatings on the mica, there are no pigments in these paints. Their reflective nature means the Iridescent paints cannot be read in a spectrophotometer. Because of this, they have a lightfast rating of “NA”.
The addition of QoR Mediums or Watercolour Grounds can increase gloss, improve flow or wetting, and provide different textured surfaces, to expand the creative opportunities in watercolor painting.
