Winter Acrylic Painting with Texture WITH SHELLY BANKS

Any Skill Level – Youth or Adult
Take a break from the winter weather and spend the day creating a well-loved image of dandelions in their ethereal form. Shelly will get you started painting an easy, abstract background , learning to blend colours. Next she will get you to place the defining areas of interest and finally applying the texture to create a funky, fun and beautiful painting that gives dimension and brings the painting together. Beginners welcome!
About the Instructor:
Shelly is an award-winning coloured-pencil artist who also enjoys teaching indigo dyeing, acrylic, glass painting and how to make beeswax wraps. She loves exploring a wide range of mediums. Her current passion is oil painting as it creates so much luminosity and vibrancy. She has taught for The Paint Spot for over 6 years now – she loves it!

The Paint Spot will provide: 12 x 16 canvas, paint: Titanium White, Pyrrole Red, Benz Yellow Medium or Cad Yellow Medium, Van Dyke Brown, Phthalo Blue, Phthalo Green, Sap Green
Brushes, High Solid Gel (Holbein) or light molding paste Palette Paper and Palette Knives
Supply List:
1. Suggested: Package of flushable cotton wipes (such as Cottenelle).
2. Suitable art clothes, cloths or paper towel, notebook, snack, and drink

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
