Do you love the soft, intricicies of watercolour? Have you always wanted to learn to create your own landscapes but have no experience painting? Well here’s the perfect crash course for you! Gain skill, learn more about colour and technical application in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This full-day class is recommended for students who have some basic watercolour painting knowledge, and those who are completely new to the medium.
This workshop will be broken up into two sections in the morning and afternoon:
AM – Gain a better understanding of the unique nature of watercolour and how to use them in your pictures.
PM – We will focus on the harmony of colours. In all, we will do 2-3 small paintings to exercise the techniques.
About the Instructor:
Ada Wong, watercolour artist, was trained with old master oil painting techniques while she was growing up. She knew almost instantly that her art journey had begun a new chapter when she encountered the fluidity of the watercolour medium. Since then she has taken a journey filled with adventures….
For the past 30 some years, she has been teaching in different cities in Canada.

The Paint Spot will provide some palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, and mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. 1 full sheet of watercolour paper (Arches cold press 140 lb or 300 lb)
2. 2 round brushes – sizes #4 & #8
3. Colours: Alizarin Crimson; Gamboge Hue, yellow green, burnt sienna, ultramarine and undersea green (Daniel Smith)
4. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, watercolour palette and 2 containers for water
5. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
You will receive a 20% discount on all art supplies from your registration until the end of the class!
Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
