Unfinished Painting Day at Artelier

Need help to finish a piece? Need time and space to paint? Join us at Artelier Studios 10045 81 Ave (Entrance via back parking lot). RSVP in person, by phone, or online. We have reserved 12 hours to paint but you can come and go as you wish – stay a little or stay a lot. We hope the day is active, encouraging and just the spark you need to kick off the new year.

Unfinished Painting Challenge 2026

Is your goal is to get to your studio more in 2026? Then this challenge is made for you. Every artist has at least one of those paintings: the one you can’t seem to finish. This is a great opportunity to get rid of those half-finished works cluttering your studio, and while you’re at it, get inspired by someone else’s half-finished work. After all, one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. However, for the painting challenge day, you can bring your own piece and finish it. We will take before and after images and then you can be part of the exhibition at The Paint Spot.

3 Easy Steps to Participate

Bring an unfinished painting to The Paint Spot. The Paint Spot will take a ‘Before’ picture of it for our records. Then you will view, trade and take home a different painting to finish.
Complete the work. Part of the challenge is to keep a portion of the original work. Colour, composition, theme, or minimum of 20% of the original is visible. It is not in the spirit of the challenge to gesso over and start fresh.
Friday, February 20, 2026, is the deadline to return finished artwork to The Paint Spot. But you can bring it in as soon as you complete the work.

Exhibition runs: February 23 – April 23, 2026

If the work sells the commission is 40% for each artist and 20% for the gallery.
