Paint a simple and natural landscape in a few simple steps! Paint an easy mountain landscape using simple techniques designed for beginners. You will learn how to paint mist, build incredible depth, and paint distant trees with a few strokes. The “colour mixing secrets” lesson will be very valuable for anyone wanting to make the most out of a basic watercolour set.
Do you love wildflower meadows? Then you’re in for a treat! This class is all about bringing together different kinds of wildflowers and composing a beautiful wildflower meadow.
What you can expect from this class:
1. Learning to paint a variety of wildflowers, filler flowers and grass stalks
2. Loosening up your brush strokes and painting with less control
3. Combining layers to create depth naturally
4. Creating a colourful balance while painting lots of flowers
5. Composing your own wildflower gardens, using the elements taught in the class or coming up with your own flowers
6. Painting wildflowers by splattering and using masking fluid for white flowers
7. How and when to use wet-on-wet watercolour techniques to paint foggy mountain scape and distant trees
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint, masking fluid, and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press), watercolour brushes, 2 palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
2. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
You will receive a 20% discount on all art supplies from your registration until the end of the class!
Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
