Winter is a time for rest, preparation for new growth! At the end of the season, we are all eager to search for signs of spring. Hope this trip will bring hope and participation to your soul!
As usual, we will spend the first couple of hours practicing the techniques on:
1. creating distance
2. hard and soft edges
3. winter colours
The rest of the time will be painting a late winter scene.
About the Instructor:
Ada Wong, watercolour artist, was trained with old master oil painting techniques while she was growing up. She knew almost instantly that her art journey had begun a new chapter when she encountered the fluidity of the watercolour medium. Since then she has taken a journey filled with adventures….
For the past 30 some years, she has been teaching in different cities in Canada.

The Paint Spot will provide some palettes, kneadable eraser, masking tape, and mounting board.
Please Bring:
1. 1 full sheet of watercolour paper (Arches cold press 140 lb or 300 lb)
2. A large and small round brush – Suggested sizes: #4 & #8
3. Colours: Rose, Magenta, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, and Undersea Green (Daniel Smith).
4. Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, watercolour palette with lots of space for colour mixing
5. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
You will receive a 20% discount on all art supplies from your registration until the end of the class!
Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
