An Evening of Mixed Media WITH CAROL COLLIN

Class Limit: 15 Students
Any Skill Level – Youth or Adult
This class is great for beginners! You will learn that mixed media is flawed art made beautiful so there are no mistakes. You will be creating your very own collage using various mixed media products and techniques.
You will learn how to create a beautiful background using different mixed media products and techniques.
You will use multiple art supplies such as patterned paper and dress patterns to create deliberate layers, textures and wrinkles for your background. You will learn how to apply them using a matte medium as your adhesive.
I will introduce you to and show you how to use some of my favorite inks, acrylic paints, sprays, India Ink markers, Prismacolor pencils, stamps, stencils and much more. All of these disparate elements create an unexpected harmony.
Last, I will also show you how to shade and detail your collage using vivid colors so that she comes to life.

Most Supplies are provided in the Supply Fee. The Paint Spot will Provide: Heavyweight paper, Toned multimedia paper, Pebeo Drawing Gum + toothpicks/wooden skewers, Rubber erasers, some Watercolor paints, Watersoluble mediums (graphite, pencil crayon, etc.) Graphite and color pencils, markers and pens and Ink (black), China markers
Student Supplies:
1. 6 x 6” Canvas
2. A variety pack of water based markers
3. Water brush detailer
4. Your favorite quote or saying. Please print out in many different font sizes. (the Paint Spot can print these out if you send them to [email protected] before the class)
5. Any type of Rub On’s. These will add interest to your piece. Highly recommend.
6. Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, lunch, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
