Description
Stoneground Paint Co. Gouache
Stoneground gouache is a water-based paint that dries to an opaque, matte finish. These gouache paints are easily mixed with one another and can also be used together with Stoneground watercolour paint. Golden Ochre is a natural yellow iron oxide that produces a bright, warm, golden yellow. Ochres are among some of the most indispensable pigments for landscape, still life, wildlife, portrait, botanical, and floral subject matter thanks to the range of earthy yellows found in nature.
Artists Notes: Golden Ochre is useful across a range of subject matter. It can be used to brighten up other dull earth colours, such as Raw Sienna. Add Golden Ochre to a range of blues to create muted, earthy greens.

Traditional Colours
Traditional Gouache colours have been used by artists for hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of years. These are primarily inorganic pigments such as iron oxides, green earths, as well as the popular umber and sienna pigments of the Renaissance. In some instances, they include the modern equivalent of a traditional pigment. For example, Titanium White, which replaces toxic Lead White in artist’s materials.
