Description
Stoneground Watercolour Dioxazine Purple
Significantly darker than Ultramarine Violet or Cobalt Violet, Stoneground Dioxazine Purple is a slightly grey violet, perfect for rendering shadows. A versatile choice for the purple in an artist’s palette, Dioxazine Purple is a dark valued, dull violet. A little bit of this colour goes a long way, and is so dark in heavy applications that it can be used as a substitute for black. Available in half pans.
Artist’s Notes: A little bit of this colour can go a long way, however it is an excellent mixing colour, and creates beautiful lavender washes when used dilutely.
Paint Maker’s Notes: Dioxazine Purple is also known as Carbazole Violet.
