Stoneground Paint Co. Naples Yellow Deep Gouache
Stoneground gouache is a water-based paint that dries to an opaque, matte finish. These gouache paints are easily mixed with one another and can also be used together with Stoneground watercolour paint. Naples Yellow Deep mixes well with other colours and is a warm yellow ideal for landscapes, still life, and botanical paintings.
Artists Notes: Add Naples Yellow Deep to reds and violets to create burnt oranges, rusty reds, and warm browns that are ideal for landscapes. Combine with Cobalt Aquamarine for greens at home in spring landscapes.
Paint Makers Notes: The historic pigment known as Naples Yellow is a bright, warm yellow with one major caveat: it contained lead. Naples Yellow Deep is a deeper, much safer, version of the hue and can be combined with Titanium White for a colour close to the original.

Traditional Colours
Traditional Gouache colours have been used by artists for hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of years. These are primarily inorganic pigments such as iron oxides, green earths, as well as the popular umber and sienna pigments of the Renaissance. In some instances, they include the modern equivalent of a traditional pigment. For example, Titanium White, which replaces toxic Lead White in artist’s materials.
