Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Supergranulating Colours
Supergranulating paints are watercolor paints with a special property: the combination of at least 2 granulating HORADAM pigments intensifies this “supergranulation” effect.
The shades are formulated with pigments from different color ranges, so that there are additional color changes in addition to the granulation effect.
This new, natural structure formation of the colors varies depending on the substrate and the amount of water used. The rougher the paper, the stronger the granulation effect.
The new HORADAM® Aquarell “Supergranulating Colours” are available individually or in Limited Edition cardboard box sets.
With these unusual watercolour paints, Schmincke is expanding the possibilities of granulating watercolour painting to include unusual colours with a super-granulating appearance. The combination of at least 2 granulating Horadam pigments intensifies the granulating effect, in which pigments mass together in places on the paper, to form “super granulation”.
These new colours are formulated with pigments from different colour ranges, so that the granulation effect results in additional colour changes. For example, Deep Sea Indigo is a combination of violet and green pigment, while Glacier Brown contains a brown and a green pigment. All Horadam Aquarell special supergranulating colours have 4 and 5 star lightfast ratings. The opacity of the colours is predominantly semi-opaque/semi-transparent.
