The Williamsburg Handmade Oil Landscape Colours Set is an excellent outdoor colour palette that allows artists to produce a wide variety of hues, shades and tints encountered in nature. It contains 11 ml tubes of Permanent Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Light, Quinacridone Magenta, Ultramarine Blue, Sevres Blue, Sap Green, Italian Lemon Ochre and Burnt Sienna, plus a 37 ml tube of Williamsburg Titanium White. This value-priced set includes a great selection of colours.
Made in small batches, Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colours are richly pigmented and dense. Each colour is treated individually, with each pigment ground to the nature of that specific colour, bringing out the beauty and preserving the wider range of differences that were common in the past.

The Williamsburg Philosophy
Getting the proper pigment is just the beginning. So much of the quality of an oil paint is in the grinding of the pigment. Williamsburg grinds each pigment to enhance the beauty and luminosity specific to that particular pigment. Some colours will feel slightly gritty, while others are extremely smooth. For example, Williamsburg Cerulean Blue has a beautiful, velvety, light-absorbing surface with extremely strong covering power. Conversely, Sienna colours are often gritty in order to allow light to travel through the vehicle. This exposes rich golden or mahogany undertones rather than just dull, heavy browns.
Artist-grade pigments are ground in pure, premium, alkali-refined linseed oil. These paints are made in small batches no larger than eight gallons at a time. This allows for total control over the product, much like the late nineteenth-century French colour makers. All the materials are hand-measured, and every ounce of paint is scrutinized for quality.
