FLUORESCENT colors:
Famous for being able to glow under UV light. The Montana GOLD Fluorescent range is no exception. For best results, we recommend fluorescent colors to be applied to pre-primed, dry, white surfaces. This will increase the luminosity of the color and improve coverage. Additionally, applying a Montana GOLD clear coat will offer greater UV protection to a finished piece. However, this may slightly hinder the fluorescent effect. Generally, fluorescent colors are less lightfast and not resistant to the elements. They are not abrasion proof like other Montana GOLD colors.
Instructions for use:
For best results, it is recommended that a Montana White is applied in multiple thin layers to achieve the highest possible glow effect. To give your project more durability and longevity, apply Montana Varnish in Gloss, Semi Gloss and Matt once the White has completely dried and cured (24 hours). Please note the application of a Montana Varnish will protect and offer greater UV resistance to your project, however it may result in a slight decrease in the brightness of the color under UV light. The best luminosity for fluorescent colors is achieved when applied on to a white undercoated substrate such as Montana GOLD Shock White S9100. Due to their synthetic non-natural orientations, fluorescent colors in general do not have the same opacity, light fastness and longevity as normal high pigmented colors. Shake Well!
Flexible, acrylic based matte formula. Works well on wood, concrete, metal, plastic, canvas, and glass, as well as many other surfaces. Fast drying.

FAQs:
ARE MONTANA GOLD FLUORESCENT COLORS LIKE OTHER MONTANA GOLD COLORS?
No. Fluorescent color pigments do not exist in nature. Because of this, all the colors are man-made with synthetic pigments that are not able to withstand exposure to the natural elements like normal colors. As a result, this may lead to less durability, faster fading, or discoloration. This is the case with all fluorescent color coatings, regardless of if they are paints in tins, tubes, spray cans, or others.
ARE FLUORESCENT COLORS AS LIGHTFAST AS OTHER COLORS? CAN I PROTECT THEM?
Fluorescent colors fade faster than other colors during ultraviolet (UV) exposure. Montana Cans use UV blockers in their paints to increase their lightfastness and longevity. Additionally, it is possible to apply a Montana VARNISH over the cured Montana Fluorescent color to protect it even further. Montana varnishes have UV filtering characteristics to protect what they coat.
ARE MONTANA GOLD FLUORESCENT COLORS AS OPAQUE AS OTHER COLORS?
No. Fluorescent colors are not as opaque as colors with a natural pigment origin. Because of this, we recommend multiple coats applied on a white, or a light-colored base for best results.
CAN I USE MONTANA GOLD FLUORESCENTS LIKE OTHER MONTANA GOLD?
Yes. Once cured, Montana GOLD Fluorescent colors function like any other Montana GOLD color and may be painted over or re-coated with any Montana GOLD product.
WHY DO FLUORESCENTS COST MORE?
Because there are no fluorescent pigment color sources in nature, it is not easy to create quality fluorescent colors. Therefore, more expensive raw materials and manufacturing processes are required to create the fluorescent pigments Montana Cans uses.
DO FLUORESCENT COLORS HAVE THE SAME FINISH AS OTHER MONTANA GOLD COLORS?
Montana GOLD Fluorescent colors have a slightly different finish compared to other Montana GOLD colors. Usually, they are a little more matte, subject to the gloss levels of the pre-painted surface they have been applied to. The glossier the surface color was, the shinier the Montana GOLD Fluorescent color will appear after application.
HOW DO I GET THE BRIGHTEST RESULT?
For best results, we suggest applying Montana GOLD Fluorescent colors onto nonporous and pre-primed, white surfaces before Montana Fluorescent color is applied. If you have a white base, this enables the most amount of light to reflect through the color, resulting in a brighter fluorescent effect. The more coats applied, the brighter and more long-lasting the effect will be.
WILL MY MONTANA GOLD FLUORESCENT COLORS GLOW IN THE DARK?
The Montana GOLD Fluorescent colors will only glow under ultraviolet light sources (UV lights). The more coats you apply, the greater the effect will be. For best results, we suggest viewing in a dark room or a space with no other light sources. The lower the level of ambient light is, the greater the glowing effect will be.
WILL MY MONTANA GOLD FLUORESCENT COLORS GLOW IN DAYLIGHT?
No. Ultraviolet light is required for the glow-in-the-dark effect. If you want your paint to glow without UV light, you need to purchase the Montana NIGHTGLOW Spray.
