Watercolour Sheets & Rolls

Watercolour Sheets & Rolls

The standard size for watercolour sheets is 22 x 30″.

Weight refers to the thickness of the paper. 90 lb. papers are lightweight pages for pen and ink drawings, and light enough for handmade watercolour books. 140 lb. is most common because it is affordable and, for most uses, it does not wrinkle when taped down. 300 lb. is very heavy. It cannot be rolled and must to shipped flat. 300 lb. does not often require taping because it is heavy enough not to ripple when loaded with water it will stay flat.

Cold Press has a light pebbled texture and most popular.

Rough has a more pronounced texture and give more interest.

Hot Press has been ironed smooth and is good for detailed work.  Markers and pens will glide over the surface without wearing down as quickly as the rougher papers.
