Description
Stoneground Quinacridone Red Watercolor Half Pan
Quinacridone Red can be used full strength for bright, cherry red washes, or mix it with others to create clean, interesting, and luminous colour combinations. Invaluable to modern artists for their versatility and vibrancy, quinacridone pigments are noted for their use in floral and botanical works. Quinacridone Red is the most noticeably red of the Quinacridone pigments, with Quinacridone Magenta and Quinacridone Violet appearing more magenta and violet, respectively.
Artist Notes:
This is a clean, bright red that mixes an incredible range of colours. Quinacridone pigments give artists the bright blue-reds colours that Pyrrole pigments can’t offer.
Paint Maker’s Notes:
Quinacridone pigments are known to flocculate, leading to a relatively mottled appearance when compared to some of our other watercolour paints. This is normal for this colour when it is mixed by hand and is just one instance of the unique properties each pigment possesses when not adulterated with other chemical additives.
