Description
Natural Shoji Paper Roll
An excellent quality, machine made Japanese shoji roll. This is a best choice for large format printmaking projects or shoji screens. This shoji roll paper is heavy enough for soft book covers with Japanese style binding. Japanese Shoji washi has high Kozo content and is very cloth-like when Konnyaku Starch is applied. This roll is the same paper as Usu Kuchi Heavy sheets.
Usu Kuchi differs from Kozuke in that it is made of pure kozo and is unsized. It takes colour beautifully and is receptive to most drawing and printmaking methods. Because it is unsized, it’s an excellent choice for projects that require great saturation, such as dyeing.
