New Formula! This superior, ready-to-use resist easily washes out with warm water, revealing the white or colored silk beneath. Jacquard Removable Water-based Resist keeps the silk completely soft to the touch and allows artists to create layered designs, as in batik. It holds a crisp line without spreading and does not shrink or pucker when dry. The Jacquard Removable Water-based Resist may be tinted with any water-based dye for colored lines. It is screen-able, odorless, alcohol-free and non-toxic.

Ideal for creating patterns, details and drawings on textiles, this resist holds a crisp line without spreading. It will not shrink or pucker when dry. Also, it can be colored with any water-based dye. You can even use it in a silkscreen, allowing you to experiment with endless techniques! It will wash out with warm water even after steaming or setting.

Resists are used in Serti-style silk painting to create barriers for liquid color such as Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow as the color spreads on the fabric. “Serti” means to encircle or enclose, and this technique allows silk painters to easily achieve “stained glass window” effects. Typically, it is applied with a fine line applicator, brush or screen.
