Stoneground Historic Earth Palette
Stoneground’s Historic Earth Palette is inspired by colours used long before the advent of synthetic pigments, back to a time when artists created their own paints. These pigments were traditionally mined, and are some of the most permanent, lightfast, and durable pigments available today. This palette is a wonderful choice for artists who enjoy portrait work, because these colours can be used to great effect for skin tones. Additionally, you can use this collection to add a vintage feel to any creative work. Also, use it for unique tonal studies, and to supplement other watercolour collections.
The Stoneground Paint Co. crafts their watercolours by combining finely ground pigment with a binder of water, gum arabic, as well as honey. Watercolour is a medium noted for its transparency and the wide range of effects which can be achieved with its use. A range of pigments from modern to mineral, traditional to pearlescent, are used in the creation of their handmade paint. As a result, watercolour artists are offered an array of vibrant colours to choose from.
The Stoneground Historic Earth Palette contains six half pans of handmade watercolour paint in a hinged metal tin. Measuring approximately 2 1/2” x 2”, this compact size is ideal for travel and plein air painting.
