Jacquard Solarfast Wash
Jacquard SolarFast Wash removes the undeveloped Solarfast dye from fabric and paper. Also, it reduces the risk of back staining during washing. This is especially important for preserving white areas and highlights when making photographic prints with Solarfast.
This Washi is a concentrated detergent specially developed for use with SolarFast prints.
Reliable results, Easy to use.
For hand washing fabric or paper, submerge in hottest water possible. Add 1 – 2 capfuls (10 ml) of SolarFast Wash, and agitate constantly. Keep water flowing 10 minutes. For front loading machines with a pre-wash flush, add the SolarFast Wash between and the flush and wash cycles. If machine washing, use 3 – 4 capfuls (24 ml) per load. Set the washer to hot for best results.
Sunlight-developed dye for paper and natural fabrics
Use SolarFast dyes to create photograms, continuous tone photographs, shadow prints, as well as ombrès on fabric and paper. SolarFast is also great for painting, tie dyeing, screen printing, stamping, as well as batik and more! Watch Video
Shake the product well before use. Apply SolarFast to fabric or paper using a brush, sponge or brayer. While still damp, expose the design to sunlight and watch the colour magically appear! Place objects on coated substrate to block development during exposure. Any object that casts a shadow will create a pattern. Use a film negative to create permanent photographs on paper or fabric. After exposure, wash out undeveloped dye with SolarFast Wash and hot water, agitating vigorously. We recommend machine washing for textiles. Colour development is not complete until after washing.
