Create an encaustic collage with memorabilia, documents, and photos.
Friday night (2 hours): Create your collage using found and handmade papers and ephemera as well as your own personal memorabilia (optional). (See supply list.) We will be creating some of the papers we will use in our collage and Donna will then guide you in how to create your collage. We will let the collage dry overnight before adding the encaustic layer. NOTE – it isn’t necessary to provide your own documents, etc., as Donna will also be providing vintage papers in your provided collage packs.
Saturday (5 hours): Donna will guide you in adding layers of beeswax (encaustic medium) as well as more collage layers, images, and other compatible media into your collage.
About the Instructor:
Donna has been interested in art her whole life. She discovered the magical art of encaustic over 12 years ago and has immersed herself in the medium. She has a studio in her home in Camrose, AB, where she paints and offers small classes. Donna loves experimenting with multiple mediums and media and discovering how they can be combined with encaustic. She really enjoys teaching all about the art of encaustic.
