Do you enjoy painting watercolour birds? Do you wish that your watercolour paintings looked more realistic?
This course is for anyone interested in learning how to paint birds in watercolor or would like to expand their knowledge in watercolor techniques. Join Francis Marte in this 3-hour evening class where you will learn how to paint a dramatic Eastern Bluebird.
In this class, Francis will break down the bluebird painting process by adding layers, creating texture; lifting, painting hair/feathers/eyes and how to create that gradient dark background.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint, masking fluid, and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 11 x 15”), round watercolour brushes #2 & #12, palette, water containters, pen, gum eraser, masking tape, mounting board
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
