Have you always admired the beauty of our colourful and expansive prairie skies as the sun sets and the evening comes? Join Francis Marte in this 3-hour class and learn how to paint this dramatic scene in watercolour. You will use limited pigments to achieve this glowing and luminous landscape painting.
Guided by a reference photo, you will learn how to pay attention to value, tone, and detailing.
After this class, you will be more confident in painting dramatic and realistic watercolour landscapes.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 11 x 15”), round watercolour brushes #2 & #12, 2 palettes, kneadable gum eraser, masking tape, mounting board
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)
You will receive a 20% discount on all art supplies from your registration until the end of the class!
Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
