Scared-stiff beginners – this is for you!
Have you ever wondered how to tackle a painting with very minimal use of brushes? Have you wondered how to pour watercolours to achieve very soft effects? Learning this technique will dramatically improve your paintings to achieve a soft mood and atmosphere.
In this class designed for beginners, the instructor will guide you on how to properly pour watercolours using transparent pigments to achieve a clean, crisp painting. You will discover how watercolours can achieve beautiful “accidents” and also how to create blooms.
A photo reference and paints will be provided by the instructor.
About the Instructor:
Francis Marte is a realistic watercolourist with years of professional experience. He has participated in various exhibits and has been featured in international watercolour publications. Francis possesses a strong sense of artistry, consistently displayed in all his art pieces. He is a well regarded watercolour instructor for emerging watercolourists.

Most supplies are included in the supply fee.
Instructor will provide watercolour paint and photo reference.
The Paint Spot will provide watercolour paper (Arches 300lb cold press, 11 x 15”), round watercolour brushes #2 & #12, 2 palettes, spray bottle, masking tape, mounting board
Please Bring:
- Handful of kitchen paper towels, ballpoint pen, 2 containers for water, 2 containers for storing mixed pigments
- Suitable art clothes, hand towel, notebook, snack, drink, and your own PPE (mask, hand sanitizer)

Artelier is located at 10045 81 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta (back alley entrance). The workshop space is one block south of The Paint Spot.
