Anatomy for Artists – Écorché Sculpture: 5-Day Art Retreat WITH RYAN KURYLO

MONDAY – FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 – 18

1:00 PM – 4:15 PM

$400 ($350 + $50 Supply Fee)

Class Limit: 15 Students

For Artists of All Skill Levels

The 5-day workshop focuses on teaching participants the fundamentals of understanding human anatomy using clay over an existing skeleton armature. Each day of the workshop will cover a specific area of the human figure, beginning with an overview of the skeletal and muscular anatomy of the area. Through a combination of instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to build up clay muscles around the skeleton armature to create a classic écorché study. The instructor will provide individual feedback and guidance to each participant throughout the workshop. At the end of the workshop, each participant will bring home their completed clay sculpture, a dynamically posed human écorché figure that reflects their own unique artistic vision and understanding of anatomy.

The workshop is designed for individuals of all skill levels who are interested in improving their sculpting skills, realism and understanding of human anatomy.
