You know what’s better than a new sketchbook? A full sketchbook! In this 1-day workshop, let John guide you in your journey to fill page after page with visual experiments and studies. Experience your environment and subject matter from creative new perspectives!
Delve into value studies that involve both direct observation and working from photos. Learn the secrets for quickly editing photos on the computer or phone and create reference images that clearly evoke how light and colour plays a crucial role in transforming your ideas into visual poetry.
Find your authentic voice and visual style by exploring the same subject matter in different mediums. Through drawing and painting exercises, John demonstrates how you can make the most of the different mediums to achieve interesting effects. While building your artistic skills, you will learn techniques that save you time and help you gain confidence — whether you are working in portraiture, still-life, or landscape.
Awaken your creativity! Fill a sketchbook!
