Monday - Thursday, August 14 - 17 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (with a short break)
During this 4-day class students will learn the safety and working techniques unique to oil painting. We will be working from photo references and from life, so there will be plenty of drawing incorporated. Jordan will also be teaching some art history that is relevant to each day’s project. This is the perfect class for youth to experiment with oil paints in a safe, fun, and knowledgeable environment. Can’t wait to see what you create!
Day 1: Oil paintings basics, colour mixing, and colour theory.
Day 2: Painting inspired by Vincent Van Gogh! You will be introduced to Van Gogh’s colour palette and subject matter. You will be working from photos of similar subject matter using similar techniques.
Day 3: Painting inspired by Claude Monet! You will be introduced to Monet’s colour palette and will work from photos that Jordan took in his home studio and garden.
