Encaustic Spring Landscape

Description

Sunday, April 23    10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Class limit: 12 students

Instructor: Jordan Pearson.

During this one-day class you will learn the safety and working techniques unique to encaustic painting (hot beeswax). Jordan’s demos will focus on a specific approach to landscape painting in encaustic. This will involve more drawing directly, specific colour mixing, scraping back, glazing, and carving in. Students will also be shown how to build smooth or textural surfaces to suit their landscape in regard to texture and background, and detail. You will leave the class with 1 medium-sized (9x12") painting in encaustic! This class will involve some drawing and is open to beginners and those who have already taken a class in encaustic. Your supply fee covers all the encaustic supplies needed.
