Join us in painting your favorite backyard birds in this one-day class! You will learn the safety and working techniques unique to encaustic painting (hot beeswax). Jordan’s demos will focus on a specific approach to wildlife/animal painting in encaustic. This will involve more drawing directly, specific colour mixing, scraping back, glazing, and carving in. Students will also be shown how to build smooth or textural surfaces to suit their bird portraits depending on the desired texture and background. You will leave the class with two finished mini bird paintings in encaustic! This class will involve some drawing and is open to beginners and those who have already taken a class in encaustic. Your supply fee covers all the encaustic supplies needed.
Your fee includes all these supplies:
2 wood panels
Decorative & washi papers
Use of pencils, encaustic paints & mediums, brushes & heat tools
