Drawing: Seeing to Draw Intensive Series


Thursday, May 4, 11, 18, & 25   6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This 4-week class series is packed full of drawing exercises designed to help you to see and learn valuable techniques for drawing the world around you. You will learn to see and use line, light and shadow, perspective, texture, and composition while drawing a variety of subjects.

You will explore a different genre each week:

  • still lifes
  • the human form
  • landscapes/cityscapes/interiors
  • abstract

And you’ll discover how to put your own spin and interest into each genre. The aim of this class series is to improve your drawing skills so you can draw anything.

A great opportunity not only for beginners who are interested in learning to draw well, but also for those who wish to further their skills and add some more technical tricks to their skill base. Daphne is an enthusiastic instructor with a great ability to communicate her knowledge.

2B, 4B, 8B pencils

White eraser and a kneadable eraser

Blending stomp or cotton swabs

Sturdy locking utility knife (no Exacto knives)

About the Instructor: Daphne Côté is a professional artist and has been instructing art classes since 2004. She has been drawing and painting and drawn to the study of visual arts since she was a small kid. She has experience showing and selling her work for over the past 19 years. The human figure is the main subject of her work though she also dabbles in other genres to inform her figurative work.
