This is a very useful class for anyone who draws or paints! In this bootcamp Daphne will guide you through an inspiring session of learning how to look at surfaces in the world around you such as metal, fabrics, patterns, hair/fur/feathers, natural, and manmade surfaces. You will learn how to translate what you see into 2-dimensional drawing. Explore techniques to draw any surface using the simple materials of pencils and a sketchbook. You will leave with a collection of images. You’ll be filled with ideas of how to achieve textures that you’ll be able to use to improve your work in any medium. Open to all skill levels, this bootcamp is great for representational and abstract artists who wish to further their technical skills.

White eraser and a kneadable eraser
Blending stomp or cotton swabs
Sturdy locking utility knife (no Exacto knives)
About the Instructor: Daphne Côté is a professional artist and has been instructing art classes since 2004. She has been drawing and painting and drawn to the study of visual arts since she was a small kid. She has experience showing and selling her work for over the past 19 years. The human figure is the main subject of her work though she also dabbles in other genres to inform her figurative work.
