Book Arts: An Easy-to-Make Pamphlet Book

Thursday, July 6     10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Class limit: 10 students.

Instructor: Shelly Banks.

Come and play with paper! In this little class you will begin to learn some basic bookbinding steps by creating a pamphlet book. You’ll find all the supplies you need here! You can select attractive paper for your covers, and there are many alternatives for your pages, too. You will learn to make a signature (multiple-page section), to fold your paper, and to sew the spine of your pamphlet. Great skills to learn! These books are just the right size for purse, pocket, or car and are useful for sketching, jotting thoughts, or making notes. They make very nice gifts, too.

Participants receive a 20% discount on these supplies.

 Student brings:

  • 1 sheet Chiyogami decorative paper of your choice
  • 1 pad XL Sketch, 5.5x8.5” (red cover)

Optional: Suitable art clothes (e.g., apron), notepad, snack, drink

The Instructor supplies: awls, needles & thread
